What a convenience to be able to order eyeglasses on-line

What a convenience to be able to order eyeglasses on-line. My husband and I are having to think about this issue once again due to nursing home issues. His mother has lived in a nursing home for the last couple of years. She formerly used bifocals. Now that she mostly is either watching television from her bed or a wheelchair, it was discovered that she was viewing the television screen from the bottom third of her glasses. Naturally, it made sense that they would get her regular glasses instead.

The nursing home where my mother-in-law stays is very nice. She has a lot of very caring caregivers. Sadly, there is one resident who has sticky fingers. This woman will walk into my mother-in-law’s room and help herself to whatever she pleases. Several months back, the prettiest pair of glasses that my mother-in-law had ever owned with rose-colored frames went missing. It was three weeks before some of the staff finally found her glasses. In the meantime, she had to use her back-up pair which is not nearly as pretty nor does it match her current prescription.

Recently, my mother-in-law’s rose-colored eyeglasses went missing again. It might have been left in the shower room. It might have been left in the hairdresser’s room. Or it might have been once again taken by Miss Sticky Fingers. Once again, she had to resort to her backup pair. Then the backup pair went missing three or four days later. My mother-in-law had to resort to her final backup pair which does not look very good on her and does not at all match her prescription. In order to replace the eyeglasses that are becoming and match her current prescription, my husband is going to have to jump through several hoops. That’s when I began thinking how nice it would be to have an on-line company one could call to get a replacement pair. What makes this idea even more attractive is that Eyeglasses.com has free shipping on eyeglasses over $55. They also have an enormous selection. That way, my mother-in-law could select a frame that would be attractive. Then we simply have to let the company know her prescription. I could save to favorites the frame she and we like the best. Within a few days, we would be able to provide my mother-in-law with a replacement pair without having to leave the comfort of the nursing home or face rainy or unpleasant weather.
