Let’s celebrate mothers for Mother’s Day with flowers

Mother's Day is coming up soon on Sunday, May 9, 2010. I am especially thinking of my mother today, April 20th, as she had surgery on her left shoulder this very morning – bless her heart. It was Rotator Cuff Surgery. A few years ago, she had to have Rotator Cuff Surgery on her right shoulder. Thank goodness that the surgery went well. She will be in the hospital for three days. The doctor indicated it will take a full year to get full use out of her left shoulder again. I am praying that she will not have much pain in the meantime. So even though we only officially celebrate Mother’s Day once a year, every day that we will still have our mothers in our lives could very well be a good reason to send flowers or send a card or call our mothers to let them know they are loved and appreciated. I am especially grateful to have my mother in my life. What a blessing she has been to me.

I found this great YouTube video called Spot-A-Mom 2010. It’s very cute! It is all about spotting and celebrating all the Mom’s in our lives. The video is sponsored by 1800 Flowers. Here’s the link if you care to watch the commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VynGmTbNI-o.

I went to 1800 Flowers to look for some great flowers to send my mother while she is in the hospital. That’s where I found the video. I also saw they have the coolest display set up for Mother’s Day. They feature suggested flowers you can send to the Red Carpet mom, the Green Thumb Mom, the Grandmom, The Classic Mom, and the Foodie Mom. I especially like the flowers they show for the Green Thumb Mom. My mother used to love to plant flowers. I guess since she has had surgery, she will not be up to planting flowers this year. You can see the picture of the flowers I think she will like best this year.

So I will probably be celebrating Mothers Day at least twice this year, currently while she is in the hospital and on the official day itself. What do you plan to do to celebrate your mother this year?
